London 2023
2023 was a busy year with a new job working on the Beckton DLR Depot expansion and moving into a new apartment with Keoni kicking off January. From there we bought furniture, painted and decorated and settled ourselves in before taking a much overdue trip back to Australia to see the family and attend Dean and Alecia’s wedding. 6 weeks away seeing everyone and I couldn’t get enough of them, its been much too long.
The next few months were full of social activities, visiting friends, having friends visit us, attending raves, hikes in the countryside, dinners, laughter, connection and just all round good times. Sometimes it felt like we hardly had anytime to ourselves between all these other events. It didn’t feel like we’d been back in London long after Australia before we were off to Paris to visit Carine and Francois and then Tristan and Amber were visiting from Australia as they began their first (hopefully of many) European odyssey. They hung round London with us for the better part of a week in July and we did some touristy things including drinks with a view at Gong Bar in the Shard. They left and a week later we met them in Italy for a 10 day road trip from Rome down the Amalfi Coast with camper vans. Unfortunately Amber had a family emergency and they had to cut their trip short, returning to Australia after only three weeks away.
Further visits from Josh Long and Amor, trips to Spain, wintry adventures with Keoni’s sister and husband, weddings, birthdays, dates, food adventures, thrilling ice skating at winter wonderland and before we knew it, Christmas was knocking at our door. We hosted this year with Keoni and Eddie staying at ours. All in all, 2023 was a fantastic year and here is to more amazing things in 2024.
Also just a few cute snaps from friends and family in Australia during 2023.
