Japan – Naoshima Island and Kyoto

More days in the beautiful sun exploring the country around Hiroshima. One was spent riding 70km along the Shimanami Kaido bicycle route. This was stunning, with the path taking us over 7 amazing bridges, each more incredible than the last. By the end though, Megan and I were both destroyed and the only thing on our minds was some food from the Lawson convenience store.

On our final day in Hiroshima we took the train and ferry out to Naoshima Island which has art installations all across it, both indoor and outdoor.

The Shimanami Kaido bicycle route. That isnt a smile, its a grimace from quad cramps.
Blurry photos while on the go. We do love a bicycle day!
Stunning views along the way.
Lawsons ramen at the end of the day. Destroyed!!
The ferry to Naoshima Island.
Photos in a colorful pumpkin!
More pumpkin pics.
Other weird but cool interactive sculptures.

One night in Kyoto and a morning exploring the cherry blossoms ended Megans and mines catch up. Walking around under the beautiful sakura trees, their magnificent colours and delicate flowers a great backdrop to our last day amid farewells after an absolutely incredible week. That afternoon I hopped on a bullet train back to Tokyo to fly back to Australia.

All the best on your travels Megan.

Loving the last day in this beautiful place with this beautiful person.
Beautiful sakura trees in bloom.
The whole Emperor’s Park overflowing with cherry blossoms.
