From Sarandë, Albania on the ferry to cross over to Corfu, Greece. Day 1 was spent swimming and starting our foray into Greek food. Giros and moussaka for lunch with a follow-up of baklava. Megan went to the airport to surprise her parents while Mitch and I wandered into old town to meet them for dinner.
The next couple of days we walked around town and visited the forts, one during the morning and then returned to the other for sunset. Mitch hired a scooter and I played pillion as we went for an adventure down to the south-western side of the island to Halikounas Beach near Lake Korission. Next we wove our way up the mountain near Komianata to go look at a cave entrance. Another day was a bus trip over to the north-western side of the island to lunch and swim at Paleokastritsa Beach.
After our fill of Corfu, we journeyed down to Lefkada, another island further south of Corfu where we then spent a week sailing around the area. A week of sun, clear blue water, swimming in gorgeous little bays and coves, learning to sail from Captain Gianni and just general relaxing fun ensued.
After sailing we spent a day with a hire car exploring Lefkada, visiting some of its famous beaches and driving its winding narrow roads. Now on a bus to Athens and boarding an overnight ferry to Crete.
