The lead up to Christmas involved lots of holiday cheer in the form of drinking and eating way too much. Lots of friends having dinner parties and drinking games made for some big nights.
Our apartment had a Christmas eve dinner and drinks with a secret Santa thrown in for good measure. I cooked a roast chicken and a bourbon pecan tart for dessert. It was my first time on bird duty and Mim’s helpful advice ensured it turned out moist and tender with a crispy skin. There was so much food I was taking leftovers to work and eating them for dinner for the next few days.
In between Christmas and new years there were a few days of good snow and then bluebird conditions. I caught up with Megan on the mountain and on her second run of the morning she decided to catch and edge and take a tumble. This tumble resulted in a trip down the mountain in the ski patrol rescue sled and then a drive to Banff hospital where she found out she had broken her collar-bone. Unlucky for her she is now out for 6 weeks.
Here’s to the new year and more adventures.
