So the last couple of weeks for me has been a waiting game. everyone here is in limbo as we wait at work for temps to drop low enough to consistently make snow and on days off everyone is waiting for there to be enough snow to get out and begin the fun. A day trip to Calgary to get my snowboarding gear from the shipping company has me prepared for when the mountain is open.
Days off have involved trips to Banff and cutthroat pool, euchre and board games. The guys and girls on my crew have also been making a list of all the Canadian foods I need to eat. The list of foods includes:
- A blooming onion
- Perogie Pizza
- A Ceasar (a bloody mary type drink)
- Candied Salmon
- Five Guys Burgers
- Team burger ans onion rings from A&W Burger
- Lumberjack Breakfast at Denny’s
- Nanaimo Bar
- Root beer float
- Poutine
- Wendy’s Frosty
- Dairy Queen Blizzard
Not a very healthy list but I’m going to work my way through it.
Mother nature helping out a little bit. Rumors are that we will open the top half of the mountain next week.
Megan’s adventures have taken her from hangovers in San Fran to swimming and sunshine at Venice Beach, LA. Now she is with her family in Chile doing some warmup hikes for when she has to shoulder her heavy pack and walk those long hard km’s every day for 9 days straight.
