Getting to Semuc Champey we got off the shuttle bus and transferred to the back of a pickup. Driving the 45min through barely populated rainforest to the hostel in the dark while lightning flashed behind the mountains around us was pretty amazing. We drove through this one section that was lit up with hundreds of fireflies.

We only spent two nights at the hostel to give us a full day to do the tour of the caves and pools and float down through some mini rapids along the river back to the hostel.
